In my darkest hour, the light runs away
I stumble to find my way home
The hope that used to guide me
no longer shines.

Not even a flicker to tempt me, to entice me
My dreams no longer have a voice
Like shadows they lay silent, transparent
A reality I can't touch.

A stale breeze fills my nostrils
leaving me in a melancholy heap
of hopelessness.
My purpose is but a bitter lie
