Perception

Written by: Robert O'Brien

                          Darkness looms and clouds appear...
a search for choices no one near,
a door is shut or so it seems,
then suddenly, perception gleams...a new way out!

                             Rains appear and shadows fall...
and in time a feeling small
                                     begins to lurk within,
then prayer conceives a new perception, once again.

                                   Rains continue on a theme...
of hammer blows... and endless stream...
a wear and tearing of the heart
                                     until an ending nears.

The time it passes, birds still sing,
                              and once again perception rings...
the dawning of a brighter day.
