Time is a train
Speeding down a track
Never braking, never stopping,
Never to look back.

Time is water
Flowing in a brook
Never thinking
Of what it took.

Time is a mirror
Splintered and cracked
Showing everything –
That we lack.

Time is a treasure
Buried and forgotten,
Until awakened
As something rotten.

Time is a thief
Of all that we own;
Yet, we let it rob us
Of blessings that we
Have seemingly outgrown.

Time is forever
Like a bottomless pit,
We journey through its corridors
Never to forget.

Time is fleeting
When trusted upon,
It leaves us
Wanting to belong.
