Post Office

Written by: Denise Hengeli

Waiting is my short suit
Many chores await
Everyone moves slowly
Is this to be my fate?

I only have a question
Transaction should conclude
I just need a minute
It'll brighten up my mood

I've lived sixty plus three years
I recall people caring
We'd better train the younger ones
Or waiting we'll be sharing

I wonder how many years
Being patient I have spent
While workers chat, take phone calls
Post office’s main lament
