The Runner

Written by: James Chenevert

There he goes again, running for his health.
So precious, it can't be bought,
with all of the worlds wealth.

What is it now? Five times a day?
He waves to all the people,
he passes on the way.

He draws his sweat to lose the weight.
Tightens up the muscles,
head held high.
Running, his posture, sturdy and straight.

Almost there, his run nears its end.
He stops and greets his next door friend.
Laughs and talks telling a joke,
strikes a match, and lights up a smoke.
