sheep costume

Written by: joy bohland

Put myself in your hands
again and again
til you knew what it felt like
for you to be mine.

Sharp as a whip
at playing it stupid
don't know where I learned it.

Cuz I'd beg for you to hold me
then say how dare you touch me.

A wolf in sheep's clothing
it kept me warm
it kept me warm.

Never meant to be this way
never meant to be this way.

The wool from my sheep costume is starting to tear
from all the years of wear
yet it still looks natural.

It was enough to make you believe.
It was enough to make you believe.

Next time, it will not be you
and next time I'll make them work harder.
Next time, it will not be you
when I show my softer than soft side
