The Place Where I Belong

Written by: James Loggins

When I first came to this school program
I felt like it just wasn't me;
It just felt like it was not who I am
But all that changed as time went on

I found that these were ordinary people;
Just the same as me
But even when I felt so at ease
I also felt some bitterness you see

Because I chose once to ignore
These people who are the same as me
But I do not feel regret anymore,
Or any sadness, or any bitterness at all

Because I feel I belong with these people; this crowd
In fact, I would shout from the rooftops
I would shout this out real loud:
This is the place where I belong!
