Those Were The Days

Written by: Kevin Stock

The grass grew over my head
And the trees were so thick
You couldn't see a thing
Except the path
That led to another world

A world of make-believe
Where my imagination
Ran as fast as the wind blows
A place where there were
Good guys, bad guys, cops and robbers

I could get lost there
And visit far away places
From times long since past
It was a special place
That I think of still today

Sometimes I'd go there
With all of my friends
Riding down the hill
Between the many trees
As fast as we could ride

We would play cowboys and indians
Until late at night
Shootin' each other
With bullets from our fingers
Dying, then getting up to die again

Those were the days
Of innocence and laughter
Of make-believe worlds
Of special places I now miss
Of Dreams I can't forget
