SEVEN POINT ASUNDER

SEVEN POINT ASUNDER
I’m not drunk! Not drunk!
But like a drunk I walked
Staggering and stumbling
With a kain-kain1 induced melody
Captivating was the rhythm of taju-taju2
The gutter of oda-agbo3 a soothing Jacuzzi

I’m not drunk! I’m not drunk!
Listen up! Apes with golden pens
Doing some shameless mess!
A display of ugliness and rottenness
Imagine! Lepers dishing out dinner
And the vulture perched to devour

I’m not drunk! Not drunk!
The scavengers are posed
With unsterilized tools
Drilling out our souls
Our cry became the second air
But lo, who cares

I’m not drunk! I’m not drunk!
The lightening of hope
The seven point asunder
Hmm... The kanji-dam4 now a fish pool
The wires for our laundry
Our classes for goats and sheep
Where is the lightening?
Oh! A sudden extinction
like its real appearance
Ha! Ha! Ha!... Seven Point Asunder
I am drunk! Really drunk!!!
