A Coconut Tree Climber

Written by: FABIYAS M V

He climbs up rhythmically,
Keeping his legs
Within a ring of rope
Like his life.

When his intuition
Assures ripeness,
Life at the top of trees
Falls down

Just a slip
May end in all end,
But the practice
Slips rarely.

His ways are hackneyed ;
But he is
Honeyed and free
Under calluses.

Morrows and yesterdays,
He never climbs upon.
He hugs today, green and yellow
Like coconut tree leaves.
