Lifelines to the Blue

Written by: sidewalker 1

In the sea you’re drowning.
Sink or swim, it's all the same.
The priests bow at the alter,
Chanting out your name.

On a raft, we're casting
Lifelines to the blue.
Dark clouds have amassed.
What spirit speaks to you?

Yet, in the waves, a whisper.
In the breeze, a song.
In the mist, an answer.
In this life, hang on!

The void fills waiting moments.
Whirlwinds toss you round.
A morbid sky, now boiling,
Dons a lightening crown.

The knight has long departed.
His sword, a twisted blade.
With these rains a message
Mystics once conveyed.

Yet, in the waves, a whisper.
In the breeze, a song.
In the mist, an answer.
In this life, go on.

Sadness paints your canvas-
An ocean so forlorn.
Yeats' ship gone to Byzantine
With sails tattered, torn.

On a rock I'm standing,
Shivering from the storm.
What can’t last forever
When time is still unborn?

Yet, in my voice, a whisper.
In my heart, a song.
In my eyes, an answer.
In my love, be strong.
