Scarred for life

Written by: Kurt Kohls

The needle hums
silenced only
by the whispers of pain
it chews upon my naked skin
and it's there my flesh
will never be the same

Another story told in a picture
begins to unfold
written and directed
by my imagination
produced by another
so the story can be told

Tho, judgement comes swift
for those who are scarred
it's a shame the narrow-minded
refuse to see it as an art
something unclean and hidden
that should remain in the dark

i stare at my creation
which is so deeply shaded
yet vivid, with brilliant splashes of ink
that i cant help but wonder
when i'm standing at the gates
what will the angels think
