Happy New Year

Written by: Beau Regard

Harkon now thou lulled spirit,
And rouse the dust from dreams forgotten.
Ply the chances which feed in the shoals of that annual tide.
Pearls are there, though the shells be hard.
Yearn not, and wade into the waters dear Friend.

Never leaving the shore, sedentary and sullen,
Ends the burning, ends the day,
With empty hands and sandy feet.

Yoke your heart with the reigns of life,
Ever pushing, ever pressing, ever pleasing.
Annunciate your vows with elephant bellows,
Ring true to the winds and loose the regrets of cold reservation.
