A gray colored mask

Written by: Marugu Mburu

You,
Call mine,
A gray lifeless mask

I,
Saw yours,
Painted all color in life

Yellow,
Was your,
Zest and love for life

Red,
Was spring,
Your new love blooming

Green,
Was me,
Your new maestro was in town

Brown,
Was he,
Your trust in him you vested

White,
Your eyes,
Purity was your love and quest

You,
His easel,
He painted you a paradise

Blush,
His brush,
Your color at his stroke

Then,
Midnight spring,
Gentle wind blowing

Screams,
Your voice,
Rent the still midnight spring

El Diablo,
Came calling,
Wounding you, midnight spring

Black,
He painted,
Your mask a fresh black coat

You,
Darkness filled,
The ugly gash never healing

Rain,
Came running
Down your colored mask

Your,
Maestro gone,
Departed to the market for his auction

Rain,
On you,
Eroding your life colored mask

Heaven,
By grace,
Gave you a gray colored mask

You:
Your wound,
Ugly gash, covered by a gray colored mask

You,
Call mine,
A gray lifeless mask

I,
Call yours,
A gray colored mask.
