Time Like Desert Sands

Written by: Lord Addo-Yobo

Seconds go by as desert sand flies,
Taking along fears as man tries,
Memories are relished as rain dies,
Sucking, our joys run dry as water eludes desert skies,

Minutes trickle down dusty sun,
As its rays dry rich fun,
Whirling,our anguish does run,
Causing great sounds of regret with disappointments gun,

Hours seep through the shaky palm,
As man chokes on sandy rum,
Hoping to turn back time's speeding ram,
Ears are pierced by sands whipping psalm,

The future becomes our past,
As hopes are drained by sandy trust,
Golden times unbelievably do rust,
As time takes up the nature of the sandy dust,
