Writer's Block

Written by: Erica Lewis

I put my pen to page
and ply my complex craft

Eyes turn inward
to gaze upon
the parlor
of my soul

A dark room
and drafty too

Hollow sounds persist
subtle and gnawing

Something sinister slithers
b'neath the walls
eating at the foundation
never revealing its form

I stumble through
cobwebs to
the door

The walls fall in
on parting glances
