I Can't Stand The Rain

Written by: Gareth Heslop

We’re all made of water
but mine constantly rains
constantly causes pains
that don’t run away

And the window to the soul
my clear blue eyes
only serve to hide
the tortured, scarred leftovers

Where a decade of hurt
never lets me rest
never lets me stop the infest-
ation going on forever

And the physical body
that shrink wraps my dreams
straining to burst the seams
covers deep red blood

Hides all it could
the only me that’s normal
it looks so formal
but I’m still under there

And the clothes I wear
rest on scars escaped
from the shrink wrap draped
on my ugly life
