My Journey

Written by: Angie Sharp

I try to treasure the fragile minutes
that crowns my head with finite youth.
But each precious year begs to leave,
as I struggle to find eternal truth.

I surround myself with human regrets
born from a growing garden of wrong choices.
These brittle days takes me through this earthly journey,
while the damaged air whispers of heavenly voices.

Sometimes time teaches me a bitter lesson in mortality,
whipping my temporary heart with human grief.
Salty tears blind my frail mortal eyes
to the eternal beauty of religious belief.

As my delicate life flees from time's erosion,
daily sorrows scar my emotional hearts.
But the knowledge my human brain collects
remains with my soul when my body departs.
