Just One

Written by: Celeste Butler-Mendez

True friendships can't be broken; some can't be moved at all.
They never crack or crumble, they won't shatter, they won't fall.
I hope to make just one in life. How perfect it would be.
For surely it would carry me into eternity.

When my soul is done here and my time is slowing down,
when my name's a fading whisper on the lips of this old town,
I pray the bell of friendship's toll, when I do reach my end,
will play for me, so I can hear, the voice of just one friend
