Visuddha

Written by: Kristin Reynolds

And on the cusp
of the existential meaning behind
lush gateway lips,
      and secret whispers through trees -
from the opening of the human throat;
      and up
into the symbiotic
                              showers
                                               raining low
      from beyond the touch of rudimentary digits;
equations born of tenure minds
      distilling concoctions of swirling smoke,
alive between sums, brought in
      through the inhale, and out
through the exhale;
      and each monumental thread
from streaming off
                                              the tongue between
      two defining lips;
reverberating between the kiss (a raspberry ready
      to puncture the filmy skin of sugar)
dying before
      the next Universe can be born…

And then, there was light
      as she opened
                             her mouth;
and there on the cusp
      lay the tendril thought lost.

                                         (they like to slip away)
