Life's like a boat, adrift in this ocean;
Í'm sailing by others in very slow motion.
Year by year I'm getting older.
My fingers are frozen, this water's colder!

Others have sunk, I see wrecks behind,
I'm trying to blot the images out of my mind.
You meet the eccentrics, age they've defied
And, I, ashamed, run off to hide.

There's so little time left, why can't I just die?
Some don't understand... they even ask why.
