Commitment

Written by: Lindsay Laurie

One can easily turn their back and walk away,
If they so desire,
But if moral lore has been instilled, both will stay,
To defuse the ire,
For there’s so much more to love than similar parity,
Then have one flee,
Commitment means assurance, without charity,
And feeling free.

Freedom doesn’t always mean being carried by the breeze,
A restless soul that can’t control, the being ill at ease,
Looking for the greener grass that never seems to grow…
Freedom is commitment that never needs to show.

Trust is always something that is nurtured with affection…
It’s a proven thing,
With personalities forsaken, going in the same direction,
Willing to bring,
Everything along befitting to a working partnership jigsaw,
Where the pieces fit,
Well enough to be committed to the life they are looking for,
And loving it.

Loving doesn’t always mean being in each other’s company every day,
Love is knowing when the chips are down, someone is never far away,
Who will dry a tear or hold you tight without a thought for giving…
Loving is commitment, and commitment is the epitome of living.
