Dust From The Past

It settles into my bones while I sleep
As all the other souls barge meet pillows
I wander down Akashic halls and weep
In disguise, a tattered heart tin billows

Yesterday’s memories water the senses
As I fist my hand and jab the thin veil
Between nightmares I break consensus
Every inch of courage gone off the rail

Morse code hawks snap at my burning feet
I wake up to coffee and pills, then I write
I may be confused but I can’t reel defeat
Because when I scribe, I win the old fight

Dust from the past comes settle the score
And I write and I write until fear is no more.
