a casket is being built
with the cradle's worn planks.

To the King of Kimos! Captivated with too many images to describe! Yes, a tomb of monstrous proportion is being built with innocence! Great to read your work, Chris!

Powerful, perfectly said Chris! In this valley where the Tigris and Euphrates have been used as political tools by most of these countries for years at the expense of the people and nature. They do build their own caskets through ignorance, manipulation and greed. So what's new!

This really gives an impact, Chris. The words that you chose to use here definitely speak volumes, from the 1st line to the casket from a cradle- the irony of it all, one can't help but sigh and think of the lives lost (is it all in vain?)... 3 lines that really do weigh heavy on the mind, wow.

Maybe hope is juvenile. Maybe it is illogical and irrational. I still hope. Damn the torpedoes (literally) . Man is unpredictable and stranger things than peace have happened. The real question I have is what can the average idiot like me do ... what actions can I take that reflect my thoughts and prayers. Cause hope ain't enough. Hugs to you and yours...
