Distant Thoughts

Privacy that burns
A pyre of knowledge self-honed
The russet leaves have arrived
She is awakened
Leaves flutter by her bare feet
Making their presence pre-known

A stake in her heart
Lodged deeply beneath the ribs
As Longfellow musings pry
Wounds once oozed agape
No longer bleed the heart dry
Private tutor calms, imbibes

A delicate wrist
Proffers on night’s evening husk
Every word’s a waft of musk
As she goes tardy
In the shadows of his words
Lea opens the trap-door

Lost in distant thoughts
The learned one un-knots xxx

A well thought out piece of poetry. Leaves are russet, the heart longs, words are sometimes lost in thoughts but love prevails. Well done.

"As she goes tardy in the shadows of his words..." This reads like a great dream Mystic. Reminds me of an Oracle's vision. I like it, it means many things. J.A.B.

Blimey what an imagination. Is that what you think when in solitude? A great piece of poetry and the type SEDOKA intrigues me I have to study it. Great piece of work for a great contest only Isaiah Zerbst can organise. Yes, you were right about the tattoo it is a portrait of my beloved favourite singer. The one and only EDITH PIAF!

This has very unusual imagery, Vie. I love that last part, as she goes tardy in the shadow of words and opens a trap door. SO COOL!!
