Fervor and Fragrance

She drooped like a
wilting peach
blossom
Looking to match up
with a flower from
the Glen
Wanting to get away
from the righteous
sunflower
He saw her playing
in the field

The first few dates
she was a Sweet Pea
Praying for anything
but a trumpet flower

And he would have
plenty a night
recalling
periwinkles
Having been a very
becoming orange
blossom

She knew about the
goldenrod, throwing
herself all in
But would he see her
for only the moment?
Forget-me-nots are
rare in this world
Then again he was an
elderflower, so he
advanced

You are my
gladiolus, my dog
rose, my buttercup'
You are the ambrosia
I have been looking
for all my life
My Jasmine when I
feel alone, my
amaryllis every day
I promise to be your
foundation if you
will show me how to
bloom

Gwen will you marry
me?
