Evening Portraits

The smooth caress
of porcelain…
twenty pearls
inside a shell…
the gaze from marbles
as lightning strikes…
the maiden speaks
without a word.

Flashes of amber
like stars from heaven…
subtle rays
at dusk…
twilight, denied
of darkness…
mirrors guide
the moon.

The breeze,
hums a song…
harmony of light
and a strip of film…
praises given,
yet abrupt…
barely heard,
more often than not.

A different vogue
for every frame…
the smile in lips
has still remained…
though in the eyes,
tears have welled…
and trickle slowly
down each cheek.
