Wind

A breath of wind blew of the sea,
A whisper in the night.
It swept across the cooling sand,
And drifted in it's flight.

It moved on over sleeping birds,
And glided through the trees.
Careful not to wake a thing,
It slipped on past the bees.

Without a thought it slid with grace,
Flowing past the world.
Flying, flying, flying flying,
Keeping steady pace.

Through towns and cities deep in sleep,
Through allies big and small.
It kept on moving on and on,
Over buildings thin and tall.

It didn't seem to have a goal,
A special place it goes.
It just kept on gliding past the world,
It's destination no one knows.
