plump underarm of a forearm,
white and sappy-not much sun
has seen that skin.

there is the hidden,
long sleeves
of self loathing,
words that were too scathing,
to digest into raging
could only leave on
a stream of blood
a twisted grin
dissolved by beta endorphins.

there is hidden
an institution of family failing,
a confused language,
frustrated articulation.

covered up
lacerations of a tongue
ulcerations of neglect
and worst the festering of projections.

about the long bandage in summer,
I fell (you did)
and hurt myself( but you didn’t)
or the cats scratched me (they certainly did)
