Thunderstorm

The leaves look dark,
Against the blank sky.
A tree leans sideways,
Gray clouds roll by.

The wind abruptly stops,
Everything is quiet.
The leaves stop rustling,
There is no riot.

Then all of a sudden,
There comes a zigzag flash.
A tree leans forward,
There is a loud crash.

More thunder follows,
There is a stronger breeze.
A tree shakes its branches,
And off slip its leaves.

Raindrops fall steadily,
Onto the firm ground.
They dance in the rain,
They make a soft sound.

Leaves fly around,
 Happy to be free.
Their life has unlocked,
They are not on the tree.

The zigzag strikes,
So does the gale.
It never stops,
Never to fail.
