The Blessing

God blessed the mountains,
the rivers, the future,
the small children and the house
on the hill.
The sun was setting
and the night was still.
God walked out of the woods,
blessing a house on the hill,
where the father carried
the burdens of hard labor
with pride.
Small children to care for,
with years he got tired.
Yet he was always there
for someone in need
Strong like a rock
in times of defeat.

A defense in all trials
God tends to time.
He loves all the world’s children
He loves yours and loves mine.
