Penance

Pele's home rumbles within the dome -- I came to atone.
What was I then; what am I now? Dominance lost, so ashamed,
a man I'd been, a King on a throne -- now powerless a woman, a crone.
To the womb I return, to grow and reform, second chance my aim.

Tired and drawn, plucked to the bone -- so far from the comfort of home
a group of seekers gathered to entreat the mother, to the cauldron we came.
Islands of sea, islands of self immersed in loam -- groomed for sacrifice not alone
cleansed -- held upright by sisters we sought the wisdom of the flame.

In a future time, a far off place, deep within the gloam, my spirit roams;
I'll be returned; a man again lessons learned, my titles to reclaim
for through the passage of time and form -- I'd be reborn, soul grown,
cherishing the lessons, cauldron learned, my second chance attained.

* This is a true past life memory.

    of course you may say anything little dear, though I know my thoughts and feelings were affected by deprivation, they controlled our food, our sleep, our waking - so who knows if it was a true memory but I do feel I was masculine in a past life my yang energy is very strong - then again so is my feminine aspect so I guess I am finally balanced

    Wow! Debbie.... this is fascinating. So so different from my set of beliefs. I'd be intrigued to know more of your experience. I'm unable to write for this contest, but you have done a fabulous job. That cauldron...surely can purify. hugs

    Fascinating..... So you were told this and didn't live through it like in a dream or something. I feel you are very supportive of women and I love that in you! Thanks for explaining. Hugs

    That's all of it Eileen, I was studying the shamanic rituals of lomi lomi Hawaiian massage in Hawaii, they put you through like a 'bootcamp for the spirit' determined to break you down into your essence & I was told by spirit I was a powerful man in a past life who used that power wrongly and hurt & was dismissive of woman so this lifetime I was made a women to 'know' how it feels & I was given back a small bit of the flow of healing power I used to have to see if this time I can handle it?
