Winter's Kiss

A cock crows and somewhere a forlorn wolf howls at the hated approaching
dawn.
Then the suns rays break over the horizon in its magnificent splendor.
I loook at a tableau that Mother nature has dusted scintilatingly white ,with the
kiss of winters first snow.
The mighty tree limbs are bare, shivering , a cold gale blows through the
skeletons that once were vibrant and green.
The heartless wind cares not for the worries of this world, bringing forth portents
of Winters first kiss.
There is an uneasy stillness, no movements, no sounds. all life is in slumber
deep underground.
Waiting.....waiting, for the sun to bring forth warmth with the first touch of Spring.
