The Last One

Pain & fear of the unknown
     This pain is the consumer
I live inside it at its heart
    & my heart is heavy
           & fast & hard
     pounding in my stomach
my sick thoughts begging to get out
     my result
     waiting eternal suffering
     for my flaws
     my weakness to tell me
     to show me
     what I have lost.
It was not just a game
     for me.
It was my love my soul
     tossed aside mocked
     shamed trivialized.

     I've been so many
     casualties
     naked numbered
     wearing nothing
     but their tags;
     but you're the last one
     my heart does not beat
     the same
     it always skips
     like a broken record
     idiot.

     You're the last one
     I'm forever naked now
     in just your chains
I no longer wait in line
        cast aside
     no one calls my number
        or name
It was not just a game for me
        pain & fear
     pounding in my stomach
like vomit begging to get out
     You're the last one
     My heart does not work
      quite the same
it always skips a little bit
      Idiot.
