A COMING TO LIFE

A COMING TO LIFE

A coming to life
That which was not dead
The incredible boiling of roots
The awful joy in power

You can’t hear it
Nor feel it
You can only sense it
That tangled nether boom

But you might see –
Had you special eyes –
A carnival of worms
And burrowing things

A promenade of spring

Written as only you can, my friend. I am hopeful that I will feel a breath from spring soon. Right now we are still in the depths of winter. Lainie

the imagery in third stanza is so creepy!! a few times I got really close to the ground of my yard and studied it. Wow, i saw horrible things. hahaha. But I guess it is all part of nature's plan. Good one, my friend.

Hullo, Dave. I haven't read your poetry in quite a while, so it is nice for me to get back to it again. Neat lines here .... you offer a special perspective with your choices of juxtaposition. Yeah, the juxtaposition adds some extra spring, some zany exuberance to this celebration of Spring.
