Living in fear

Living in fear

Most of us, we live in fear
So much anxiety
Is hiding there within our psyche
And this will always be
Because we do not know what happens
When it comes to our dying day
We can say that we believe in God
But do we? All the way???

As death comes close, the fear will grow
Because we do not know
We have never looked within
And seen the inner glow
And other people’s words won’t do
They be not our own truth’s
Anyone can talk the talk
What we really need is proof.

But should we look into ourselves
And ask ourselves this thing
‘Who is this entity called me’?
Much peace these words might bring
Cause this is where the truth is hid
It takes away all fear
Then peace and harmony will come
And the answer will be clear.

Hi Peter, I ask myself often Peter, "Who am I." I don't think I truly wish an answer. On this one I shall remain ignorant until God gives me an answer. As usual Peter you give us an Interesting and thought provoking write. The one thing I don't have Peter Is a fear of dying, that's the way I was born. No matter how my end comes I shall face It well, I must face It well. I have more a fear of living than dying Peter, Strange, I know. Have a good day. Catch me later. Your Friend always....MIKE.

Peter; I used to have a great fear of dying since i was a little girl. I am not afraid anymore. I believe in God and in Jesus - He is the answer. We have to try to live a rightous life so maybe we can be saved..... Lucilla

Lucilla, anything that crates peace within you is fantastic. We all struggle through life with our own ideas. I believe that everything is God and we are all part of everything, And I regard Heaven and Hell as a very childish concept, but this is me. I am also a very spiritual person, and always will be. But I will never be a believer. I truly appreciate your kind comments, my friend...peter

Thank you so very much Huberta. All one has to do is spend a few moments each day and make the mind silent, then it all becomes apparent to you eventually..I really appreciate your kind comments, my friend....peter

Hi Peter, a beautiful reflection on life if only we all understood the answer lies within. Cheers Huberta

Brilliant Peter I often ask myself if Jesus knocked on our doors today and told us to give away our prized possessions . To follow him , How many of us would do it ? I arrive at the conclusion we would see him crucified all over again The worship of money is too powerful.

Hi Darren, This is so true what you say. People never realize the truth until the truth sayer is gone, Then they put him on a pedestal, but nothing else ever changes. It was the same with the Buddha, Socrates, and many others. The spiritual masters are fingers pointing at the moon. But folk choose to hold onto the finger. Thanks for your kind comments....peter

Scott, when we change the direction of the looking, Life can only get more beautiful. most of us look outside of ourselves for happiness, when it really resides in the depths of our being. I appreciate your kind comments, my friend....Peter

Hi again Peter, I do not usually read profiles, but I read yours!...you look like Burl Ives-LOL! But seriously, I too am a Viet Nam Vet, who has suffered the ills of PTSD! I just want to commend you, and especially your lovely wife Vera for sticking it out throughout the very hard times I know you have encountered!...I've had 2 marriages, both disastrous! My compliments!//Robert

Hi Robert I thank you so very much for your kind words. I do not know much about Finding things on computers, but my wife went to the site you gave us, and she said you cannot read your poem without joining. As it is a singles club, she knocked that on the head. Why don't you put It on soup. I would probably make a good read for everyone.. I would surely love to read it....Peter
