I hear the creak of a winter morning
A touch of silver snow fills an awning
A breath of wind sweeps the cyan sky
God it is lovely, I can’t help but sigh
Away from the noise of the city walls
I’m a south-ling birdie with inside calls
A pen thought away, from the Cedars
Green tipped in trunks of toffee cigars
I know the sound of a shovel, it’s gray
And the sun regretfully, shivers away
Down to the south, where birdies fly
God it is cold here, I can’t help but cry.
