Honey, I'm Home

I felt kind of sad when I said "Honey, I'm home"
You were not there for me to hold you in my arms
That happy feeling I have when I see your smile
The best part of my day when I look into your eyes

You were not there for me to hold you in my arms
Thankfully I know you will be home soon
The best part of my day when I look into your eyes
There is no one for me as special as you

Thankfully I know you will be home soon
We can talk about our cares from the day
There is no one for me as special as you
You are my sanctuary and answer to prayer

We can talk about our cares from the day
When I am with you my sad evaporates
You are my sanctuary and answer to prayer
My burden is lighter because You are here

When I am with you my sad evaporates
I dance along the breezes of our contentment
My burden is lighter because you are here
With you my love, all things are possible

I dance along the breezes of our contentment
The happy feeling when I look into your eyes
With you my love all things are possible
I can't wait to hear "Honey, I'm home!"

A top winner it is , if only it was not shared. I don't agree with the system of placing six top winners, there should be only two and I don't like that either. Well done for a magnificent write, for me it was only the number one winner but as we all know it is only my humble opinion!

We often take for granted the most important of moments.....something as simple as these precious words. You bring this to light in this tender poem! Nicely done, Richard!

Thanks Anne, I will not take it for granted. My step dad passed away a few years ago so I know from my mom how difficult it can be.

Excellent Rick! I thought you were heading in a different direction in the beginning, like Joe Flach's poem, but I see all is well. Congratulations!

Richard this is adorable. You chose a great form to do this theme in. I am still wanting to do this one but not coming up with any inspiration. It's been a long time since I did pantoum poetry, but isn't the last stanza supposed to include two from the first stanza?

Yes I modified the last line to fit my theme. What is the use of a poetic licence if you do not use it once in a while *lol*

A weaving of extraordinary proportions. Of simple yarn, yet nimbly wrapped around the reader, a shawl of the delicately familiar, to warm a winter's day. Nice. Thanks for sharing, John
