My Mother

When I get upset with the kids I try hard not to shout
Sometimes when I open my mouth my Mother comes out
Her voice is now mine and her words seem so true
It only feels natural that I should sound like her too
Many times I would cringe running away at the sound
Afraid of what she might say if I ever was found
Understanding has come when I became a mom
Now I know where all her frustration came from
