Winter's First Snowflake

*Winter’s First Snowflake* * * * * * *A winter’s first snowflake cascades Downward from the sky it was born Weaving a white blanket careful not to fade The existence of other flakes not gone * * * * *As the hours go by all shapes of flakes appear Illuminating their diamond aura’s onto the earth Celebrating a season that brought them here Opening the sky to release their birth * * * * *A winter’s first snowflake weaved the path After being invited by nature’s call Through the winds and chill of winter’s wrath The coming snowflakes prevailed not to sprawl

This almost makes me like winter and snow, but I'm certain I like the words and message of the poem you've written. I tried one on snowflakes, but it didn't last.

this sure goes along with our weather these days, Gail, except we are long past the first snowflakes! Very pretty!! (oh, and no, that last poem of mine is an oldie that has nothing to do with any contests. My muse is sick right now and not coming up with new material)
