Kintsukuroi

Follow the cracks they may lead you to God
Each one of them carefully filled with gold
A broken vessel that has been repaired
I am much more now than I was before

Each one of them carefully filled with gold
A painstaking effort to make me new
I am much more than I was before
When others would have just thrown me away

A painstaking effort to make me new
Each broken piece lovingly put in place
When others would have just thrown me away
The worst has now become the best of me

Each broken piece lovingly put in place
Trace all my lines they flow back to my heart
The worst has now become the best of me
Recycled in a magnificent way

Trace all my lines they flow back to my heart
A broken vessel that has been repaired
Recycled in a magnificent way
Follow the cracks they may lead you to God

We are more beautiful for having been broken. For some reason this made me think of the opal. Did you know its beauty and color comes from a broken heart? I love this poem

Opals are abundant in volcanic rock. They are basically colorless but during formation they break (receiving minute cracks deep inside) It is from these cracks that the color is seen. So, an opal’s beauty and color comes from its broken heart.
