January walks proudly,
He has to be strong,
No suitors at his open door -
Though welcome they may be.

January guards the threshold
We must pass
To embrace those months
Far easier to love.

January is hopeful,
A new start -
A new beginning,
New hope.

January is our new birth -
like a babe we scream
And breathe the air
Of what is to be...

Lovely, the imagery draws you in. I could almost picture him in the first part - the proud walk, no suitors yet, guarding the threshold:) Its such fun isnt it when we poets are able to breathe life into things, the way you have done here! I have always wondered - are we creating, are we painting new and changing existence:)
