The Burning of the Witch

 THE BURNING OF THE WITCH
There burns the witch into her death
her end and tragedy
rejoicing to her final breath
at what's just meant to be.

Repenting not for what she's done
those deeds both dark and bleak
to summon hope when there was none
except what devils speak.

And weave the nightmare, cast the spell
for which she's here to burn
forever in the pits of hell
where she will learn to learn.

I love the line "and weave the nightmare, cast the spell." This is an intriguing poem, thanks for sharing.

Well written piece... Sad to think they actually did this to women (usually midwives) who only tried to help others.
