Winter Blues

Winter Blues

A blue canvas that rests magically up in the sky
Reflects its color to weave between the fallen snow
Creating an illusion of a blanket illuminated in crystallized ice
Nature’s treasured diamonds painted with a euphoric glow

Christmas trees all decorated with only blue lights to wear
Represents a soul who was taken, leaving another’s heart broken and blue
Memories within the ornaments come to life still, as they hang there
Filling the tree with precious moments that one can hold onto

In the silence during the time the snow begins to fall
One will only hear the dripping of their tears cascading in full view
Seeing their own saddened frown reflecting in tearful puddles, as they recall
A time when winter was remembered to be painted in only white, never blue

Lovely and tender. In a way it feels kind of mystical.

Oh, this is a tremendously moving rhyme, and I loved it, particularly the last line of the first stanza. I saw this vivid image instantly and its mood sustained me through the remaining verses.

    - A beautiful and touching poem, dear Gail - gives me thoughts about a time without worries ... when everything was "rose red" .... play and pleasure ... - Wish you and everyone you love a enjoyable Christmas. - I hope the year 2014 will be a lovely and peaceful year. - oxox // Anne-Lise :)
