Clean

Take this mind and make it clean
Wash away the things I've seen

From a screen, violence and death
Pixels glow yet have no breath

Bodies entwined wearing no clothes
My soul enticed, as it follows

The things I want that are displayed
The better me I'd gladly trade

Images displayed, reach real deep
Turn me a man into a sheep

What enters my temple I control
Reducing damage to my soul

A small whisper, I hear God's voice
"Having a clean mind is your choice."

So my choice is to read instead
Words from scripture become my bread

Hi Richard, you do amaze me by the pieces you write. They are always written so well and the message Is not hidden behind words, your words are the message. It Is always good to have the freedom to choose the path we take but sometimes we do need help to stay on that path, In my case, quite a bit of help. The old goggle box has changed Indeed. I used to enjoy the TV, now I hardly watch It. The whole piece stands out Richard. A fine write. Have a good day. Catch you later. Your Friend always MIKE

So true! God gives us the freedom of choice, and it is up to us to make the right ones. Merry Christmas my friend. I am spending this morning catching up on your wonderful poetry. What a great way to start the day! Who needs Wheaties when you have words?

You know I'm not religious by any means, but you always manage to capture me with your spiritual pieces. I always take away something positive, and I enjoy that about your work: I always walk away with a gem of knowledge and appreciation, and lastly, a smile. Great poem, my friend :)

I feel the exact same way. I'm not religious, as you know, but I have a strong faith in God also and have a relationship with Him that makes me happy :)

I don't consider myself religious, I am fortunate to have a relationship with the living God. It beats going through the troubles in my life alone. He has never let me down and I never have to worry about him leaving me.

Too right Rick, we shouldn't take what we see on the gogglebox to seriously, try to remember it's just entertainment, though I use that term loosely haha. Take care, Richard

It is not always possible to save ourselves cause we are human ..fragile and weak..But yes through the power of God We can do anything We re not able to do on our own.All We have to do is choose the right choice..not easy..but yes We re not on our own.Very profound Rchard.Excellent thoughts penned.
