Turkeys

Let's talk turkey about Thanksgiving
These birds would rather keep on living
And would lobby
If they were able
To be removed from the dinner table
Plucked, and stuffed, cooked and served
A fate they feel that's undeserved
As family members
Each eat a slice
Of turkeys they've ushered to paradise
Angelic turkeys look down and pray
That we'd just eat
"Tofurky" one day

Hi Jon. I really liked this poem. The rhyme scheme works well and it is entertaining and thought-provoking. I had to look up the word "tofurky", so have added to my vocabulary through your poem.
