The fir tree

The fir tree II

Some people sense danger
And pray for peace

While others take advantage of
another type

And leave us in their dust
To clean up their mess

I still feel hopeful that we will
mend our illness

---
The Fir Tree
I didn't see the crack that
brought you to your knees
And a shadow of a man leapt
out
It had withstood so much,

{noteswithstood a huge storm
that
took the roof of of the house in
the 1950s. I thought I saw a
shadow leap out of the tree in
the middle of the night}

 Written in 2002.
