Burned

"Playing With Fire"

The heat of the fireplace
enhances the spark,
we know our love
will not fade in the dark.

We kissed amongst
burning candlelight,
your presence alone
brightened my midnight.

Nothing can extinguish
your warming touch,
a lasting impression
that meant so much.

Bound to be burned
As we played with fire,
we could not resist
and gave in to desire.

This kind of scorch
I was lucky to find,
and neither of us
ever seemed to mind.

We were both engulfed
by passion's flame,
and we only have
each other to blame.

Hi Kelly, The Love burns its way into the Soul. Another fine write my Friend. The romance comes sparkling through. I can almost feel the heat of that fire and the heat of Love's desire. You paint with heated flame, your canvas, one word after another adds to the canvas as your vision begins to take shape. This is a well thought out peace, not just words thrown together and tied with a burning bow. The passion flowed with each flame. Have a good day. Catch ou later. Your Friend....mike.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments, my friend! I think that true poetry is written with heart and soul and feeling. Otherwise, it is just words that have no real meaning to them...I hope that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

I have been writing poetry for about ten years, but I never shared them with anyone. I guess I have been in hiding until recently. I have only been on Poetry Soup since August!
