Even The Mightiest Succumb

How does one describe the beauty of love Words are just not enough It's an overpowering and divine emotion Leaving us overwhelmed with lust As hard as we try to avoid love's power There's no escaping it's grip Ultimately even the mightiest succumb And into it's clutches they slip There's only one cure, it's complete surrender Or you'll always regret that choice A missed opportunity will haunt you forever To drink in it's passion and rejoice Our existence and main reason for living Is to satisfy this burning desire To find that someone's meant for them only Reason for adding fuel to life's fire © Jack Ellison 2013

Truthfully penned my dear. Even the mightiest succumb. but those who surrender to loves risks with complete abandon, find no regrets no matter if their story comes to an end, for there was nothing held back or left undone. You nailed this one! Hugs

This was wonderfully expressed. I do wonder...does a heart REALLY have to surrender? Should our identity really be sacrificed for the sake of attaining love? I would've thought that embracing love should be done without the surrender. To attain clarity & togetherness....with open arms. Each heart is a little different though. So, I deeply respect & value your perspective here. Whatever it takes to wake up next to a precious smile each day...thank you for this.

Dragon adds fuel to our life... Well, actually, to everyone's life every time he breathes fire... He adds a spark of life when the sneezes, and he adds an incentive to live and to get up and go when he singes your feeties... You might say he's God's little blessing and motivator... all rolled up into one... Dragon... Gotta love him... LOL
