DUST BOWL SF

Life abandoned in the drought
Empty dreams of houses
minus boards
Faceless memories peering
through weed-choked windows
A farmer's fertile rows of
maize and grain
now a tapestry unraveled
into fallow ground
where disheveled sparrows
bathe in the dust

A drab picture You have given us here, remind me not to visit the dustbowl. Woody Guthrie wrote a whole album about the dustbowls. He was my fav folk singer. Great write Monterey....Peter
